PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a local feature point and a local feature amount having high discrimination performance from other images and significant for retrieval, so as to realize retrieval with suppressed degradation of retrieval accuracy, in a case of image retrieval using the local feature amount, even with limitation in the number of usable feature points at retrieval.SOLUTION: A feature list having high discrimination performance from other images is created based on the number of the storage of registered image feature groups. Referring to the feature list, feature points extracted from a query image are selected.
