PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ammonia purification unit and an ammonia purification method capable of suppressing damage or deterioration in performance of a purification part by suppressing a large load from being applied to the purification part for reducing moisture, oxygen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide contained in crude ammonia.SOLUTION: There is provided an ammonia purification unit which comprises: a stripping line 19 for supplying a part of gaseous crude ammonia to liquid crude ammonia present in a storage tank 11; a concentration measurement part 39 for measuring the concentration of moisture, oxygen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide contained in the gaseous crude ammonia from which oil components are removed as a first concentration; and a control part 42 which is electrically connected to a valve 23 provided in the concentration measurement part 39 and the stripping line 19 and adjusts the opening degree of the valve 23 so that the first concentration is within a predetermined concentration range.
