PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous film composition for lithium ion secondary batteries which enables the formation of a porous film superior in strength and electrolyte diffusibility.SOLUTION: A porous film composition for lithium ion secondary batteries comprises: a non-conductive organic fiber; and particulate polymer. The non-conductive organic fiber has an average fiber diameter of 0.01-1 m. The non-conductive organic fiber and the particulate polymer each have a reactive functional group. Between the reactive functional group of the non-conductive organic fiber, and the reactive functional group of the particulate polymer, a dehydration reaction can occur.
