Aspects of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and method that utilizes filtered transmission power margin calculation rather than instantaneous Tx power to determine whether an event 6D report should be triggered. The filtered transmission power margin can take into account not only the transmission power and the maximum transmission power level of the user equipment but also the received maximum power reduction value.
