PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing glycol-containing waste water, capable of processing glycol-containing waste water by a UASB method at a high efficiency with reduced cost; a device for processing glycol-containing waste water; and a sludge for use therein.SOLUTION: The method for processing glycol-containing waste water includes anaerobically processing glycol-containing waste water through a sludge disposed in a UASB reaction tank. The sludge includes microorganisms composed of a plurality of kinds of microorganisms, in which one of the microorganism belonging to Proteobacteria and the microorganism belonging to Euryarchaeota has the highest abundance and the other has the next highest abundance.
