Novel binding agents based on carbodiimides, aqueous resorcinol comprises a binder - formaldehyde - latex dispersion, improved adhesion fibers, their preparation and use thereof
Adhesion promoter comprises at least one carbodiimide compound, which is surface-deactivated by reacting with at least one amine. Adhesion promoter comprises at least one carbodiimide compound of formula (R11-(N=C=N-R) m-R22) (I), which is surface-deactivated by reacting with at least one amine. m : 1-500; R : 1-18C alkylene, 5-18C cycloalkylene, arylene and/or 7-18C aralkylene; R11 : R-NCO, R-NHCONHR1, R-NHCONR1R2 or R-NHCOOR3; R22 : -NCO, -NHCONHR1, -NHCONR1R2 or -NHCOOR3; R1, R2 : 1-6C alkyl, 6-10C cycloalkyl or 7-18C aralkyl; R3 : R1, polyester, polyamide, (-(CH 2) l-(O-(CH 2) kO) g-R4), (-C 6H 4(OH)) or (-C 6H 3(OH)-((CH 2) h-C 6H 4(OH)) y); l, k : 1-3; g : 0-12; h : 1-2; y : 1-50; and R4 : H or 1-4C alkyl. Independent claims are also included for: (1) an aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion comprising at least one above mentioned adhesion promoter; (2) preparing the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion, comprising mixing the above adhesion promoter with the resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion; (3) an adhesive formulation comprising the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion and additionally at least one activating agent; (4) improving the adhesion of reinforcing fibers with crosslinked rubber and/or elastomer, comprising introducing the fibers into the above adhesive formulation and drying, or treating the fibers in at least one step with at least one component of the above adhesive formulation, or introducing pre-activated fibers into the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion and drying; and (5) adhesion improved fibers obtainable by contacting the fibers pretreated with activating agents, with the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion, or by contacting a non-pretreated fiber with the adhesive formulation and drying at 180-260[deg] C.
