The object is to provide a new technology that enables plating regardless of the type of substrate. The technique involves a condensation reaction between tetraalkoxysilane and a polyhydric alcohol having a hydroxy group bonded to at least n, n + 1 position or n, n + 2 position (where n is an integer of 1 or more) in the presence of a catalytic metal.
