It is possible to provide a portable linear accelerator system that can reduce the radiation activity efficiently and at a low cost by suppressing the incidence of a loss ion beam out of orbit, and a portable neutron source equipped with the same. The portable linear accelerator system (100) is provided with a beam chopper (6) immediately before the inlet (3a) of the post-stage accelerator (3). In this configuration, only the controlled proton beam is emitted to the post-accelerator (3) to prevent the proton beam from colliding with the acceleration electrode of the post-accelerator.
