PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient detection method or production method of a spore-deficient variant in an organism of a basidiomycete subphylum.SOLUTION: A detection method of a spore-deficient variant includes a step of detecting an existence of mutation or deficiency in one or more biomolecule selected from the group consisting of (a) DNA chain consisting of a base sequence shown by a sequence number 1, (b) homologous gene of mismatch repair gene, (c) RNA chain, cDNA, or protein derived from the DNA chain in the (a), and (d) RNA chain, cDNA, or protein derived from homologous gene of the (b), which are derived from an organism of a basidiomycete subphylum.
