PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably detect that a skimming device is attached to the neighborhood of the card insertion port of an ATM.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic pulse is transmitted from an ultrasonic vibrator 2 to the neighborhood of the card insertion port of an ATM, and an echo is received, and when it is determined that an immobile object exists in the neighborhood of the card insertion port of the ATM on the basis of the echo by a processor 8, a detection signal is output. Thus, whether or not any immobile object exists is detected by using two parameters, which is, the level of the echo and time. Also, when any illegal object is detected, a manager is notified of a request for confirmation by a monitor.
