An incubation device is provided having an inner cavity that can be sealed from the outside and which has a plurality of lighting elements disposed in each of a plurality of trays arranged in the inner cavity. Eggs are laid out in trays and predetermined environmental conditions are applied to the inner cavity to promote hatching of eggs. Concomitantly with the application of environmental conditions, the eggs are irradiated according to predetermined lighting conditions.
