The present invention relates to a method for the compensation of at least one oscillation of low frequency mechanical disturbance that is caused by a rotor of an active magnetic bearing by the action of a force disturbance on the rotor. The oscillation of the mechanical disturbance has an oscillation frequency of disturbance below a frequency of rotation of the rotor.The method comprises the following steps: a) to analyze the mechanical disturbance of low frequency oscillation; (b) determining a countervailing force to produce a compensation force on the rotor mechanical device which neutralizes the oscillation of mechanical disturbance; and (c) apply force D And compensation in the rotor, in which the steps a)(b) and (c) are carried out by means of at least one control circuit for compensation of active magnetic bearing which is decoupled from the control circuit of the magnetic bearing.
