systems, methods and devices for performing adaptive color space conversion and adaptive luting parameter entropy coding are described. a video bit stream can be received and a first flag can be determined based on the video bit stream. The residue can be converted from a first color space to a second color space in response to the first flag. the residue may be encoded in two parts separated by the most significant bits and the least significant bits of the residue. The residue may further be encoded based on its absolute value.
