genotypes of helicoverpa armígera simple nucleopoliedrovirus (hearsnpv), a process for its production and use as a biological control agent

Two new genotypes of the simple helicoverpa armígera nucleopoliedrovirus, hearsnpv, hearsnpv-sp1 b and hearsnpv-lb6, each coming from mixtures of genotypes obtained from different locations and cultures, are described. each has a specific insecticidal activity against h larvae. similar to that of the usual commercial insecticides, furthermore, the mixing of the two genotypes, particularly in a 1: 1 ratio with co-occluded virions of mixed genotypes, is able to control the pests of h. tomato cultivation, being as effective as commonly used chemical or biological insecticides. Its use as a bioinsecticide represents a safe technology for vertebrates because it is specific to arthropods. furthermore, they can be produced easily and with good yield by oral inoculation of h larvae. armigera with hearsnpv occlusion bodies.
