A method for remotely recording a video program received in the form of a binary stream by at least one receiver, referred to as a recording receiver, for recording the video program to a remote server using a communication network is described. the method is implemented by each recording receiver and comprises for each recording receiver steps of obtaining (3051) a video program compression factor; dividing (3054) the binary flow into a set of successive portions, according to the obtained compression factor; determining (305) a subset of portions to be transmitted to the remote server from all successive portions, according to an offset value and the compression factor, where the offset value is the remainder of a division between a random integer, determined by the recording receiver, and the compression factor; and transmitting portions of the determined subset of portions to the remote server.
