Poly (ethylene glycol) hydrophobically modified for use in the control of pitch and coke in pulp and papermaking processes. Methods for inhibiting the sedimentation of organic contaminants from pulp in pulp and paper manufacturing systems are described.The hydrophobically modified poly (ethylene glycol) is added to the pulp or applied for areas prone to sedimentation of a system of paper manufacture.
