Platinum diazo-complexes in the oxidation state + II of the general formula of cis-[Pt(L).sub.2.n.I.sub.2.n.] (I), expressed by the structural formula (II), wherein L represents .omega.-substituted 6-alkyloxy-9-deazapurine of the structural formula (III) bound to a platinum atom through a nitrogen atom of N3, wherein the Alk group represents an acyclic branched or linear straight saturated hydrocarbon chain of the length of 1-6 carbon atoms which is substituted on the .omega.-carbon by the group of R1. The R1 substituent is selected from the group of hydrogen atom, alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, substituted alkenyl, alkynyl, substituted alkynyl, cycloalkyl, substituted cycloalkyl, cycloheteroalkyl, substituted cycloheteroalkyl, cycloalkenyl, substituted cycloalkenyl, cycloheteroalkenyl, substituted cycloheteroalkenyl, aryl, heteroaryl. The complexes are intended for the use in medicine for the manufacture of medicaments for the treatment of carcinoma, especially for the treatment of adenocarcinoma of the breast and/or osteosarcoma and/or lung carcinoma and/or malignant melanoma and/or cervical carcinoma and/or prostate carcinoma and/or hepatocellular carcinoma and/or prostate carcinoma and/or ovarian carcinoma and/or cisplatin-resistant ovarian carcinoma.
