PREPARATION OF MESOPOROUS TITANIUM DIOXIDE WITH IMPROVED PHOTOCATALYTIC AND ANTI-MICROBIAL ACTIVITY- APPLICATION TO SURFACE PAINTS FOR THE SANITATION OF INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPACES

Novelty: there is disclosed the preparation of mesoporous titanium dioxide exhibiting improved photocatalytic and anti-microbial properties - application of same to surface-coating paints for the sanitation of indoor and outdoor spaces. Technical features: the mesoporous TiO2 is prepared with the sol-gel modified method and is liable to absorb both ultraviolet and visible-spectrum radiation. The improved paints are drastic against nitrogen oxide oxidation in visible and UV radiation conditions; furthermore, the thus- improved paints suspend the growth of bacteria while relative reduction ofcolony-forming units (CFU) is observed. Embodiment: the invention finds application to the building industry namely to the construction of indoor and outdoor surfaces destined for use in eating establishments, schools and sensitive spaces such as hospitals and foodstuff industry .
