MULTIPLE SLIDE SELECTOR ACTUATOR FOR USE IN REFRESHABLE BRAILLE DISPLAYS

A multiple slide selector actuator for use in refreshable Braille displays comprises a mass sliding carriage having symmetrically spaced parallel slots along the lateral axis. A plurality of slide elements are slidably disposed in the parallel slots on the sliding carriage. Based on the input from attached computing device, the slide selector disposed under each cavity on the sliding carriage either engages with the point of engagement on the slide element or disengages with the point of engagement on the slide element. While operating, the entire sliding carriage moves as a single unit while individual slide selectors engage and disengage selected slide elements. These slide elements can be used to drive or control various types of mechanical Braille display devices.
