ABSTRACT The various embodiments disclose a method for reducing the conflict during cell search procedure in a multi subscription device. The method comprises steps of estimating, by a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of multiple SIMs of the multi-subscription device, a search time required for identifying one cell and a margin time for cell search, where the first SIM is associated with a first radio access technology, obtaining a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) period from a second subscriber identity module (SIM) in the multi-subscription device, determining a number of cells to be searched within one DRX period, performing, a Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) scan to determine a signal strength of one or more cells to be searched, ranking the one or more cells based on the RSSI scan, and initiating a cell search on one or more cells having a highest signal strength without any interruption from the second SIM.
