The present disclosure relates to the field of mechanical engineering. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a thermal energy storage system that is used in conjunction with a refrigeration unit. The TES system of the present disclosure can be used together with the refrigeration unit or an HVAC unit to reduce their load during peak power consumption hours. The primary application of the thermal energy storage system of the present disclosure is its use as an auxiliary cooling system for use with an HVAC system. Fig.1
