Enzymes have played an important role in many aspects of life since the dawn of time. They are organic biocatalysts, which govern, initiate and control biological reactions important for life processes. P-galactosidase (EC.3.2.1.23) is an important enzyme in the food and pharmaceutical industry. A process for isolating, identifying and purifying the P-galactosidase from Aspergillus terreus being a constituent for the treatment of breast cancer, comprising the steps, in combination, of subjecting samples of the said production, purification of crude for Ammonium sulphate precipitation, Dialysis, Chromatographic method (DEAE- cellulose column chromatography), Gel filtration method (FPLC- Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography) for the purification of enzyme. Aflatoxins analysis for identifying any mycotoxin, HPLC analysis for confirmation of the enzyme from the overall analysis we produce a purified form of the enzyme from microbial source of Aspergillus terreus.
