DEVELOPMENT RADIOTHERAPY GADGET - CONTOUR PLOTTER

Exposing the patient with X or Gamma rays at a distance from the patient is called teletheraphy. The patient body contour is irregular. But the radiation beam parameters are measured for flat surface. To convert the flat surface beam data to the individual patient surface, the body surface contour has to be traced and used for dose computation/dosimetry. This contour plotter is design and developed to trace the body surface accurately, while the patient is laying on the patient cot of this device. This is a mechanical system with patient cot, tracing mechanism and tracing board. This tracing mechanism and tracing board can reel over the patient/ patient cot that anybody surface can be traced while the patient is laying comfortably in the treatment position.
