POLYNUCLEOTIDE FRAGMENTS FOR EXPRESSION OF GENES IN PLANT IN RESPONSE TO PATHOGENS, AND WOUNDING

The present disclosure provides a polynucleotide fragment with promoter like activity, and deletion fragments thereof, which can drive expression of a gene of interest in a temporally and spatially restricted manner in response to pathogen infestation and wounding in plants. In particular, the said fragments with promoter like activity are active in roots and galls in response to nematode infestation, and wounding.
