Copper incorporated g-C3N4 nanocomposites were prepared by coprecipitation and impregnation method at ambient temperature by taking TEOS and melamine as silica and g-C3N4 precursors and CuSO4 as copper source. 4wt% copper incorporated 2wt % g- C3N4/MCM-41 nanocomposite showed highest photocatalytic activity such as hydrogen gas evolution (749.28μmol/2h of H2)) under visible light illumination. The photocatalytic material is resistive to photo corrosion and reused upto five cycles.
