Title of Invention: Preformed Paediatric Dental Crown With Modified Design And Method Of Designing. Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an aesthetic prefabricated paediatric crown used to treat dental lesions in primary teeth in children. Pre formed crowns in paediatric dentistry saves time consuming lab procedures in children, but since the crowns are not customised the design should be more natural, easy and efficient to use, durable and stable in childs mouth till it sheds. Therefore a new method to design and a modified design was made for the ease of use of the dentist, with long term stability and strength. The crown structure is created by utilizing scans of natural tooth. Crown were designed using cad softwares and modifying the scans. The modified features include flat inner occlusal cementing surface, thin uniform axial walls, retentive micro-mechanical locks, universal anterior teeth design, narrow crowns and embossed numbering of teeth. The advantages of design are crown with natural anatomy, thick occlusal(biting surface) and thin axial walls of molar teeth, so the crown sustains more forces in the mouth, stability is better plus tooth preparation is less to place the crown. The universal anteriors decreases the inventory. The micro-mechanical locks helps in retention. The narrow posterior crowns helps in space loss cases. The embossed labelling is permanent and invisible after cementation of crown. Fig. 2 & 3
