Present invention provides specially design and development of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Fault analyzer, to be known as PMSM-FA has been developed. For functioning of the designed system, 12 volts AC supply is obtained through the auxiliary supply board embedded with the system. Eighteen (18) different parameters owing to various faults in the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) can be diagnosed with the help PMSM-FA. These parameters are the output of various sensors which may be installed internal or external to the machines. The fault classification facility in online mode for single fault as well as multiplicity of faults apart from its capability of Classification between faults; attach much needed additional dimensions to the novelty of the invented system. The digital system presented in the PMSM-FA has very low power consumption of only 5 watts. This invention gives a flexibility to monitor the faults at incipient stage and avoid catastrophic cascading of faults that leads to plant shutdown and consequent long repair/maintenance periods. The main advantage of this system is that it can be applied to any rating and type of PMSM. Following invention is described in detail with the help of Figure 1 of sheet 1 showing Fault Detection Process for PMSM-FA and Figure 2 of sheet 2 showing functional block diagram of the PMSM-FA.
