A NOVEL METHOD FOR MEASURING ANTIOXIDANT POWER AS FRAP IS A NEW APPROACH OF BIOLOGICAL MARKER IN DIABETES MELLITUS, METABOLLIC SYNDROME AND CORONORY HEART DISEASE PATIENTS FRAP is being used as a single test to estimate total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of blood. More biologically relevant information can be obtained by assessing FRAP than that obtained by measuring the concentration of individual antioxidants and may more closely describe the dynamic equilibrium between Prooxidant and anti-oxidants occurring in the plasma compartment. Only one test, Total antioxidant capacity as Ferric Reducing Ability of Plasma (FRAP) status will give total output of Antioxidants enzymes and vitamins and Physiological Antioxidants like Bilirubin and Uric acid. We found strongly significant p values as FRAP is best marker. The FRAP test was done in Diabetic patients Metabolic Syndrome patients and Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) patients, Metabolic syndrome and compared with normal control group and validated.
