A display system includes a display arranged in sight of a viewer a sensory subsystem configured to sense an ocular condition of the viewer and a controller. Operatively coupled to the display and to the sensory subsystem the controller is configured to adjust an operating parameter of the display system in response to the ocular condition in order to prevent or relieve eye discomfort experienced by the viewer.
