摘要

Present invention describes electrochemical preparation of palladium nanoparticles in the range of 1-100 nm using palladium salts, electron as a reducing agent and ionic liquid as an electrolyte in the temperature range of 25-120 °C. The process does not require any additive like reducing agent or capping agent as reported in earlier methods. The electrochemical system consists of three electrodes viz palladium rod (as a reference electrode), glassy carbon (as a counter electrode) and aluminum plate (as a working electrode) and works in the potential range of 0.9 V to 2.2 V. Novel feature involves preparation of pure palladium nanoparticles in the electrolyte bath in addition to deposing at working electrode. The ionic liquid can recycle several times which is not possible in case of conventional organic solvents.
