PONTOON FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FLOATING FOOTBRIDGES IN PERIODICALLY FLOODED AREAS

The invention relates to floating constructions, in particular to pontoons that are suitable for installation of floating footbridges. A longitudinal, plastic pontoon is proposed, said pontoon comprises a body (1); fixing side ribs (2); fixings (3) for a covering; and, at one or both ends, a ribbed connection (4) containing both a male and a female coupling extending to the full height of the pontoon and providing a tight connection between pontoons and serving as a load bearing column which takes the load off side walls. The connection (4) is in the shape of S-shaped finning, however it can be in other shapes, for example U-shaped connection, or combination of shapes. It is possible to reinforce the pontoon by inserting a vertical strut or struts which form an integral connection with the pontoon body (1). This invention is intended for the construction of footbridges in periodically flooded or marshy areas, however the construction of the pontoon allows to subject it to the load also on the ground.
