摘要

A novel biotechnological hydrolysis process has been developed for obtaining a natural hydrolyzed protein-vegetable re-tanning agent, which may be used as a supply in vegetable-re-tan processes in untrimmed shoulder leather and vegetable re-tan wet blue leather The raw material results from cuts and pieces of vegetable-tan leather, generated as wastes of leather processing plants, which are milled for obtaining vegetable-tan leather powder for being subsequently subjected to a chemical-enzymatic treatment. This treatment uses a combination of alkaline protease enzyme and sodium hydroxide in predetermined conditions of time, pH and temperature. The natural protein-vegetable re-tanning agent is obtained by separating the non-hydrolyzed leather residues by decantation.
