Modular datacenter system comprising a plurality of rack housing units, each of said rack housing units comprising: a rectangular bottom panel having two long edges and two short edges; wherein each one of said bottom panels is provided with upright walls at their short edges; wherein two arrays of racks for holding equipment are placed on said bottom panel between said walls; wherein said arrays extend parallel to each other and to said walls; wherein the distance between each wall and the respective nearest array of racks is at least 30 em; wherein the distance between said arrays of racks is at least 30 em; and wherein said rack housing units are placed with their long edges against each other, such that corridors extend between said walls and arrays of racks and between said arrays of racks along said plurality of rack housings.
