In a method of improving the reading concentration in patients with visual disturbances, it is first investigated which eye of the patient 21 is the dominant eye. Then, while the patient looks at a text 23 on a computer screen or paper, the color is displayed for the non-dominant eye, and the preferred color filter for which the patient indicates that it is best read for the non dominant eye determined. Thereafter, different color filters are held for the dominant eye, whereas for the non dominant eye the said preferred color filter is kept, and from this the preferred color filter for the dominant eye is determined.
