The invention relates to an apparatus for evaluating ultrasonic cavitation erosion which may be used in order to evaluate the resistance of materials to cavitational attack as a consequence of the effects of ultrasonic frequency vibrations. According to the invention, the apparatus consists of an ultrasound generator (GU) with software system for correlating frequency and amplitude, a mechanical resonator assembly (AR) consisting of the following components: a piezoceramic converter (1), an amplitude transformer (2), a conical sonotrode (3), a specimen (4) for testing erosion by cavitation and a reaction vessel (VS), the assembly formed this way being functionally coupled with a Peltier-type thermostated cooling system (SR) connected to a data acquisition system with a programmable automaton, an operating system (SOP), a monitor (MO), a viewing system (SV) of the HD NETWorking type, a sound meter (SO), an infrared temperature sensor (SIT), a pH analyzer, a system (SF) for filtering the reaction liquid and a system (SI) for lighting in visible spectrum.
