The invention relates to a process for manufacturing thermally insulating and dense refractory concrete. According to the invention, the process consists in mixing, with homogenization, 25% silico-calcic cement with mechanical resistance to compression of minimum 40MPa at 28 days and loss during calcination of maximum 5%, and 75% refractory granular aggregates of silico-aluminous fire clay type, wherefrom there results a concrete mixture with a usage temperature of 1000...1200°C.
