Reagents and methods to detect white blood cells associated with type II HPN and their identification as risk factors for thrombotic disorders

A method to predict whether a patient suffering from nocturnal paroxysmal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is at a higher risk of developing thrombosis, the method comprising: determining the percentage of granules of type II HPN over total granulocytes in a whole blood sample from a patient; and the prediction to know if the patient is at a higher risk of developing thrombosis, in which the patient is at a higher risk of developing thrombosis if the percentage of granulocytes of HPN type II is greater than or equal to 1.2%.
