Escherichia coli as a marker of hypertriglyceridemia

Method to predict if a subject is at risk of developing hypertriglyceridemia, which includes the steps of: a) transforming a stool sample obtained from the subject to detect the level of Escherichia coli (E. coli) in the sample, and b) determining that a higher level of E. coli in the sample, compared to a control sample, predicts that the subject is at risk of developing hypertriglyceridemia.
