A reverse shoulder orthopedic implant (10), comprising: a methane component (14) having a platform (102) with (i) a number of screw holes (114) extending therethrough, and ( ii) an elongated rod (104) extending outwardly from a medial surface thereof, the elongated rod being configured to be implanted in a patient's scapula and having a threaded hole (110) formed therein, and a lid a thread (140) having (i) a locking flange (142), and (ii) a threaded shaft (144) extending away from the bottom surface of the locking flange so that it can be positioned in the hole of the methane component, the locking flange extending outwardly from the shaft and having an outer annular edge (154), characterized in that, when the screw cap is rotated to tighten it with the methane component, the outer annular edge of the flange lock overlaps at least one section of the circumference of each of the screw holes in the platform such that the outer annular edge of the locking flange superimposes at least a section of the outer edge of the compression screws that are positioned in the screw holes when implanted the implant, preventing the compression screws from receding and escaping from the screw holes.
