An apparatus counterweight fall protection for counterbalancing a user, the apparatus having: an upper module (130) having a plurality of horizontal members supporting a plurality of upper couplers (320a-320d) leg and a coupler (305 ) mast; a base module (140) having a plurality of horizontal members (345a-h), each one of the horizontal members between a pair of couplers (330a-330b) of base leg; and a plurality of legs (135); wherein in a mode of fall protection adapted for operation, the upper module (130) is separated from the base module (140) by the plurality of legs (135) being coupled each of the legs (135) so releasable in opposite to one of the upper coupler (320a) and the leg of the couplers (330a) of base leg ends; and characterized by a stowage module (145) coupled to the base module (140) and disposed within a generally coplanar inner region with the horizontal members (345a-h) of the base module; wherein in a mode of low profile suitable for storage, the upper module (130) is coupled directly to the base module (140) for each of the couplers (330a-330d) of base leg engaging one of the upper coupler corresponding (320a-320d) of base leg, each of the legs (135) disposed within the stowage module.
