The invention relates to an anilox roll for a printing apparatus. The aniloxroll comprises a cylinder having a surface.The surface comprises a fluid distribution structure for receiving,distributing and transferring a fluid such as an ink. The fluiddistribution structure comprises a channel formed in the surface havingchannel walls. This channel is arranged for distributingthe fluid over the fluid distribution structure. The channel comprises channelparts, wherein the courses of connected channelparts are at an angle with respect to each other for preventing a lineardistribution of the fluids to be received in a course directionof the channel, allowing a meandering distribution of the fluid to be receivedin the channel. Side walls of the channel are arrangedfor allowing a meandering flow of the fluid throughout the fluid distributionsurface.
