The present invention provides a deep packet inspection method and device, andacoprocessor. The deep packet inspection method includes: receiving, by atransceiver moduleof the coprocessor, an original data packet sent by a general processor, andsending theoriginal data packet to a processor core of the coprocessor; invoking, by theprocessor core, asub-coprocessor of the coprocessor to perform application layer parsing on theoriginal datapacket, so as to obtain an application layer parsing resu and sending, bythe processor core,the parsing result to the general processor, so that the general processorprocesses the originaldata packet according to the parsing result. The deep packet inspection methodand deviceprovided by the embodiments of the present invention reduce resourceoccupation of a generalprocessor and increase a running speed.
