Disclosed are a method for receiving and sending an e-mail, an e-mail client, a serving end and a system. The method comprises: receiving a first e-mail sent from a first mailbox to a second mailbox, wherein the first e-mail comprises an input text instruction, the text instruction comprising time information and a sequence identifier; according to the time information, querying a historical e-mail sent from the second mailbox to the first mailbox; according to the sequence identifier, merging all the queried information about the historical e-mail to the second e-mail; and sending the second e-mail to the first mailbox. An e-mail user can actively apply to automatically resend the historical e-mail, so as to acquire all the information about the historical e-mail within a period of time, which facilitates the centralized browsing of the user.
