The present invention relates to a kit that includes a first container, containing a composition including at least one antioxidant seleno-protein, and at least one second container, containing at least one composition including at least one oxidant seleno-compound. The present invention also relates to an administration method that makes it possible to administer effective cytotoxic doses of seleno-compounds, thus making it possible to inhibit hyperactivation of phagocytes, in particular of immature circulating neutrophilic polynuclear phagocytes, and directly and indirectly protects endothelial cells, in particular for treating sepsis, SIRS, and leukemia. Finally, another aspect of the invention relates to an administration device that is suited to the administration method according to the invention.
