Provided are an electrochemical energy storage device and a method for preparing the electrochemical energy storage device. The electrochemical energy storage device comprises a cell, an electrolyte and a packaging shell. The electrochemical energy storage device further comprises an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is located between the cell and the packaging shell, and fixedly connects the cell to the packaging shell. The adhesive layer is in a flow state before curing and the adhesion to the packaging shell is less than or equal to 0.1 N/mm, and the cell and the packaging shell are fixedly connected after the adhesive layer having been cured. The electrochemical energy storage device can improve the safety problem caused by abuse without influencing other properties thereof.
