The invention describes a system and method for detecting RFID tags for a gambling table, as well as an associated gambling table and element with an RFID tag. The system comprises a plurality of RFID-UHF antennas distributed in a gambling table, defining at least one reading area in the table, the antennas detecting in each reading area a plurality of RFID-UHF tags located in same. The table comprises a system according to the invention. The method comprises the steps of a) performing an RFID-UHF reading by means of a plurality of RFID-UHF antennas for detecting RFID-UHF tags; and b) determining the position of a tag in the gambling table on the basis of the result from the reading. The gambling element incorporates an RFID-UHF tag that can be read by means of the system and the method of the invention.
