Disclosed is a lightweight all-dielectric self-supporting optical cable, comprising an outer sheath (1) and a cable core. An inner wall of the outer sheath (1) is provided with a ripcord (6). The cable core is formed of three SZ-stranded units, and the three units consist of one optical unit (3) and two non-metal strength members (5) or consist of two optical units (3) and one non-metal strength member (5). The optical unit (3) is provided therein with optical fibers (2) and a fiber gel (7) filling the entire optical unit (3) for fixing the optical fibers (2). The optical cable uses three stranded units to form a cable core, thus reduces the diameter of the optical cable, simplifies the structure and facilitates miniaturization. The non-metal strength member (5) ensures the tensile strength of the optical cable and is advantageous for the laying and lightning protection. The ripcord (6) can bear a certain level of tensile force and high temperature, thus enabling easy stripping of an outer sheath of an optical cable.
