Disclosed are an Internet of vehicles data transmission method and a first forwarding device, which are used for solving the problem that a traditional Internet of vehicles data transmission method cannot realize remote communications. The method comprises: a first forwarding device receiving a packet carrying target geographic location information sent by a terminal and then screening out a second forwarding device according to the target geographic location information and saved geographic location information about N forwarding devices to be selected, wherein there is an intersection between a transmission destination of the packet indicated by the target geographic location information and a coverage range of the second forwarding device indicated by the geographic location information about the second forwarding device; and the first forwarding device sending the packet to the second forwarding device. In this way, the first forwarding device transmits the received packet to the transmission destination via the second forwarding device without considering the distance between the first forwarding device and the transmission destination, so that the first forwarding device can realize remote communications.
