A method for a service of recommending a product through relative comparison and an apparatus for the recommendation service are provided. The method for a service of recommending a product of the present invention comprises: a product ranking configuration step for configuring a ranking of a product for each user on the basis of selection of preferred products of a plurality of users through relative comparison of a plurality of products according to tastes of the users (S100); a similar taste user determination step for cross-comparing a ranking of a product configured by a specific user and a ranking of a product configured by at least one different user to determine another user who has a taste similar to that of the specific user (S200); and a product recommendation step for recommending a product to the specific user on the basis of the ranking of the product configured by another user having the taste similar to the taste of the specific user (S300).
