A computer display having distance detection and prompting functions, and a prompting method therefor. The computer display comprises a display body (10). The display body (10) comprises a rectangular frame (11) and a liquid crystal screen (12). A distance detector (400) is disposed on a front side of the rectangular frame (11). A loudspeaker (520), used for giving a prompt tone when a distance between the human face and the display body (10) detected by the distance detector (400) is less than a set value, is also disposed on the front side of the frame. A frame of the display body (10) is provided with an information display screen (14) used for receiving pushed information. When the distance between the human face and the display body (10) detected by the distance detector (400) is less than the set value, the loudspeaker (520) on the display body gives a prompt tone, and pushes patent information to the information display screen, the patent information comprising a patent application state, a patent applicant or a right holder, a patent application number, and a patent application data.
